Idle Hands Gets LaFrieda Burgers; Sneak Peek at the Bowery Diner’s Menu

Starting tomorrow, Idle Hands Bar will be offering something extra to go with your bourbon, beer, and rock: an all-star burger menu presented by Brooklyn’s Burger Tent. Think Pat LaFrieda beef, beer pairings, special off-menu burgers, and tater tots. [Grub Street]


Harlem: German grocery chain Aldi is planning to launch its first Manhattan location in the East River Plaza, joining other large retailers like Target and Costco. This will be the Über-market’s second New York City location; the first opened in Rego Park in February. [Crain’s]

West Village: The James Beard House Greens — “foodies under 40” — is throwing its third annual Brooklyn Cooks event, a decadent meal curated by some of the most exciting chefs in the borough, including egg’s George Weld and the Vanderbilt’s Saul Bolton.
