After serving a $17,900 meal to a room full of wealthy burros this past Monday, Fig & Olive has a little economic stimulus for the rest of us. The Melrose Place Italian, which doesn’t cook with butter or cream and is releasing its 2011 collection of primo olive oils tomorrow, has a new pre-fixe lunch priced at $28. With a variety of choices over two courses (as well as coffee and biscotti), like chilled avocado soup and Mediterranean chicken samosas as starters, and entrees like penne funghi tartufo or grilled steak skewers with cous cous, it may not be presidential, but it could help keep you out of debt. See Fig & Olive’s full $28 lunch pre-fixe below.
