The ING New York City Marathon is coming up on November 6, and if you’re not feeling particularly fit to tackle 26.219 miles of hard pavement, you can at least mosey over to the deluxe, climate-controlled lounge at the Marathon Pavilion and feast on the vast array of all-day nibbles that will be provided by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. A rep tells Crain’s that the menu at the new Blue Line Lounge will be based on neighborhoods in each of the five boroughs through which the marathon takes its path. As such, five huge serving stations will offer food from Chinatown, Little Italy, and Jackson Heights–style Indian food. Each $275 ticket includes cocktails, expert commentary throughout the event, and offerings from additional sponsors Grana Padano and Coors Light. Organizers also promise mystery “guest appearances,” as well, and regardless of their identities, there’s always an increased chance of running into known marathoners Bobby Flay, Joe Bastianich, or Daniel Humm on the big race day.
