For its fifth anniversary, Aussie eatery Bondi Road had planned to celebrate with a little shark on the barbie this Sunday — but that didn’t go over so well. Bowery Boogie got ahold of an e-mail the restaurant sent yesterday afternoon, announcing that it will swap shrimp for shark at the festivities, “sparked by customer concerns regarding dwindling shark populations.” We know this kind of thing would never fly in California, but who knew there was so much shark-welfare concern here in New York?
