Students at Arcadia University will surely be riding a sugar high today thanks to Duff Goldman’s Charm City Cakes. The university commissioned Baltimore’s bigger-badder-more-awesome bakery, which is the focus of the Food Network show Ace of Cakes, to construct a cake to pay homage to its campus’ iconic Grey Towers Castle. At the college’s activities fair this afternoon, it will be unveiled, cut and, most likely, quickly consumed. “The castle, obviously, is a huge draw for students,” Arcadia Orientation Leader Susan Laverty told Grub Street. “So I guess they’re going to finally be able to get a piece of it and enjoy it today.” No doubt, the cake does look pretty awesome, but imagine what Charm City could’ve come up with had Arcadia held on to its original name, Beaver College. Now that would’ve been a really cool cake!
