The Layover

Bourdain’s New Show: Bon Vivant Meets Traveling Salesman

The trailer for Anthony Bourdain’s new show, The Layover — in which he crashes in an interesting city for 24 to 48 hours — is out, and it looks like a lot of fun. It actually reminds us of this other show, called, oh yeah … No Reservations. In The Layover’s first season, Tony gets a tattoo, plays mah-jongg, pounds a bottle of expensive champagne alone on a balcony, drives fast cars, drives ecocars, plays the accordion, eats a hot dog, and stirs a dirty martini. So, it’s sort of more accessible? The show starts Monday, November 21 on the Travel Channel, not to be mistaken for the Food Network.
