If you have 50 bucks and a big heart, feel free to swing by Marcus Samuelsson’s house this weekend from 1 to 4 p.m for a brunch to benefit the African famine crisis. For a minimum $50 contribution, Samuelsson and his wife, Maya, will serve American and Ethiopian dishes and cocktails. The couple’s goal is to encourage guests to follow Maya’s upcoming journey online as she travels to famine-ravaged areas, helping those in need in Ethiopia and on the Ethiopian-Somalia border. Tickets sold here.
