On Thursday, August 18, Café des Architectes will host its next Les Amis du Chef event. As is usual for these things, the restaurant will welcome some guests into the kitchen — the name does mean “friends of the chef” in French — including Chris Curren from Blue 13 and Peter Klein from Seedling Fruit. But instead of regular wine pairings, the restaurant is bringing in John Laffler from Goose Island Brewery to help find the right beer to pair with each course. Seats are available for a totally reasonable $75 per person, but we just happen to have a couple tickets we’re giving away for free. All you have to do is tell us how much you love beer. Easy, right?
We’re looking for the most convincing argument about why you love beer, and why you think you deserve to sample Goose Island’s fine offerings in the lap of luxury at Cafe des Architectes. You have until Friday, August 12 to send us an e-mail. Over the weekend, we’ll pick out the most creative/heartfelt/ridiculous post and announce the winner on Monday, August 15. We’re guessing that drinking a Matilda will help you get in the right frame of mind for this one.
