Eater unleashed an epic report on James Toland’s The Black Sheep this morning, and none of the news was good. According to unnamed reports, the “entire kitchen staff” walked out last night. Rumor has it that the exodus happened after owner James Toland fired both chef de cuisine Phil Rubino and pastry chef Sarah Jordan. But that wasn’t the only shocking story Eater revealed about the brand new West Town joint. Though Toland publicly claimed that his e-mail had been hacked, Eater reports that he actually did write the extremely offensive comments on Time Out’s review of The Black Sheep, and that he has also blamed a non-existent assistant for other media mishaps when it was, in fact, him.
