Say Hi to Grub Street’s Newest Editor

It's Alyssa!
It’s Alyssa!

We have no doubt you’ve already seen Alyssa Shelasky’s name here on Grub Street: She’s descended into the depths of the Dutch to get a glimpse at a possible downstairs speakeasy; talked with Anthony Mackie about his new Brooklyn bar; gotten Brian Williams to openly denounce Donald Trump’s taste in pizza; sat down to coffee with Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas; and sussed out the scoop on Mile End’s forthcoming sandwich shop (among many other things). She’s even finishing a book, Apron Anxiety, about breaking into the restaurant world, which is, in her opinion, “New York’s most horrifyingly hardcore, insiders-only, late-night scene to crack.” So we are very pleased to let everyone know that she is now the newest editor to join Grub Street’s New York team, which means you’ll not only be seeing her name a lot more, but that you’ll probably bump into her at any one of NYC’s latest, greatest restaurants as she trudges on. Feel free to say hi in either case, and to let her — any of us, really — know about any hot tips you might have by sending an e-mail here.
