Back Bay’s slinky sanctuary Lolita rolls out a new “happy hour” menu this week, just in time for throngs of (age-appropriate) college students to descend on the neighborhood to nibble cheap-o tacos and drink themselves into oblivion.
On offer at the bar and in the tequila lounge:
Achiote barbecue chicken tacos: achiote-orange bbq, queso fresco, mexican crema
Slow-cooked brisket tacos: pulled brisket, pico de gallo, with shot of “gravy”
Pulled pork tacos: crispy shredded pork, salsa verde, and pickled onions
The tacos go for $1 each on weekdays from 5 until 7 p.m. (Do note that there’s a limit of five tacos per person, so don’t plan on overdoing it.) There’ll also be a chef’s special taco that changes daily, for $2 a pop. Coronitas also go for $2. Sorry, no discount on those deadly serrano chile margaritas.
