Bengal Cafe closed several months ago, with an Italian restaurant offering homemade goods rumored as the replacement. Well, that restaurant is finally here!
According to Boston Restaurant Talk, L’Impasto opens at 2263 Massachusetts Ave. today. Can’t say we’re crazy about the name — “L’Impasto” sounds a bit like “limp pasta,” after all — but it’ll be nice to have a new option on a stretch known mainly for a barbershop called “Fast Phil’s.”
They’ll serve lunch and dinner inside and on a lovely outdoor patio; expect homemade pasta (naturally) and homemade bread. Perfect timing, since according to Nielson, pasta consumption is currently all the rage.
