We don’t always get all the superlatives that get attached to Tenderloin Thai joint Lers Ros (and we disagree with SF Weekly that you can call the space “inviting”). But yeah, it’s good. The Chron circled back to chef Tom Silargorn recently regarding the restaurant’s upcoming expansion in Hayes Valley (they appear to aiming for an August fall opening at 307 Hayes), and they get him to pronounce the name properly — you treat the S’s more like soft T’s or H’s, so it comes out sounding like “lerh roh.” Also, says Silargorn, S.F. doesn’t really know from good Thai food. “Most people understand that Thai food is spicy, but it’s not everything,” he says. “We have so many tastes, between sweet, sour, salty and spicy.” [Chron]
