We brought you hints last week of former Murray Circle chef Joseph Humphrey’s new restaurant project, Dixie, which he was handing out teaser cards for at S.F. Chefs. Alas, he was saving all his informational love for the Chron, where they report now that Dixie will be moving into the former Pres a Vi space at 1 Letterman Drive in the Presidio. Furthermore, he says that despite the name, the place won’t be a Southern restaurant through and through; “that Southern component is part of my heritage,” he says, but the food will be his personal style with only “slight hints of the South.” There’s no word on the ETA, but designer Michael Brennan is going to be remodeling the rather large, 120-seat space (with patio) in the near term.
