The Chowhound rumors we told you about are true: A new bar, called Hawthorne, is in the works from members of the Island Creek/Eastern Standard dream team, we’ve learned.
Jackson Cannon and crew will take over the former Foundation Lounge (next door to ICOB on Comm Ave) and open what ICOB General Manager Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli calls a “high-touch craft cocktail bar,” complete with a “developed cheese program and diverse small plates.” Bartender extraordinaire Cannon will oversee the bar program (“it’s his baby,” Schlesinger-Guidelli tells us) and Jeremy Sewall will helm the smallish kitchen. Look for it to open within the year. Amazing.
