If bankruptcy, bizarre court cases, and strange connections to anti-government groups in Arizona weren’t enough for Giordano’s, we learned on Monday that a number of its franchise locations had not been using the company’s specially formulated pizza dough and “secret sauce.” Instead of sourcing the product from an approved supplier, the mostly suburban locations had been using products from a cheaper company. That did not sit well with Philip Martino, the Chapter 11 Trustee for Giordano’s, who also seems to be one of the only sane people involved with the company. He sued, and though “certain disputes with franchisees remained unresolved,” all Giordano’s pies are back to normal. [Grub Street]
