Big Gay Ice Cream Truck Comes to Cape Cod

Headed up north!
Headed up north!

Will Gilson and Eat @ Adrian’s, his summertime restaurant on the Cape, have joined forces with New York’s Big Gay Ice Cream truck to create a big ol’ creamy summertime pop-up on August 19. Exciting!

Gilson’s Eat Boston partner, Aaron Cohen, tells Grub Street that the duo first met Big Gay owner Douglas Quint a few months ago, and he mentioned that he might be interested in opening a shop in Provincetown. In the meantime, Gilson and Cohen managed to lure him Capeside for a one-day-only special appearance. (In a release, Quint says that “the idea of a roadside ice cream shop on Cape Cod has always been appealing. Maybe we’ll be out here permanently one day, who knows?” Yum!)

According to Cohen, the ice-cream pop-up will take place at Adrian’s (535 Route 6 West, North Truro), and last from 1 p.m. until whenever they run out. For the uninitiated: The Big Gay Ice Cream truck features flavors like “Bea Arthur” (c’mon, haven’t you always wanted to lick Bea Arthur?) and “Salty Pimp.”
