As noted on Wednesday by our NorCal counterparts, the city, state, and possibly even the country are suddenly awash in German influenced food and drink. While brat and beer restaurants are popping up all over L.A., there has also been a small boom of Asian-influenced restaurants embracing the biergarten in name or concept, like at Chaya Downtown’s Japanese beer garden or Koreatown’s gastro-pub named Biergarten. Tomorrow, Tiato will join this club as the House of An-operated restaurant is springing its own summer beer garden on Santa Monica. What’s going to be served?

Housed in the restaurant’s herb garden, the new addition will serve a selection of 20 drafts, with both German and Vietnamese beer, including Hue and Saigon on tap, along with a new selection of sliders (including shark!) and three varieties of sausage (lamb merguez, rosemary brat, and chicken apricot with basil) as well the garlic noodles that are always on offer here. The beer garden will only be running on Friday nights from 5:00-9:00 P.M. until September 30th. Pairings of German and Asian beers with three different sausages will be available for $21.

Tiato, 2700 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica. 310-866-5228.
