Oh hey, remember that whole plan to privatize the LCB that Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai dropped last week? It’s so not happening! At least not anytime soon. And no, it’s neither Democrats nor union leaders who are putting the kibosh on it. It’s actually the Keystone State’s top Senate Republican who’s shooting the plan down. According to KYW Newsradio, State Senator Joe Scarnati says Turzai’s plans are half-baked, would screw the state out some serious cash and doesn’t take into account booze lovers in the more rural parts of Pennsyltucky. What’s more, the Senator says when law makers return to Harrisburg after their summer vacation, they will have much bigger fish to fry. Scarnati proposes reforming the state run booze business, make it more profitable and more valuable before selling it off. [KYW Newsradio]
