Time Out has the details on a brand new late night bar planning to open in the increasingly crazy Logan Square scene. David Halpern (aliveOne, Estelle’s, and Easy Bar) and some partners purchased La Estrella on Milwaukee Ave both for its location and for its coveted 4 a.m. liquor license. The space will soon transform into The Owl — a new bar that won’t serve food but will have about 20 beers on tap, along with a stage for live music and DJs. As you can tell by the picture, there is still some major work to be done. Still, Halpern hopes to have the new project open by late August or early September. By our count, The Owl will actually be the second late night bar along this stretch of Milwaukee, as Bonnie’s opened last year. [TOC]
