We mentioned a couple of weeks ago that it looked like the Ace Café (1799 Mission Street) had closed because Kink.com founder Peter Acworth, who bought the building, intended to take over the space himself (and we heard a rumor many months ago that they wanted to open a bar near their headquarters). Today we get confirmation of this via the ABC, and Acworth’s intention to open a bar there called The Armory Club — named for Kink’s headquarters in the Armory across the street. The bar will be open to the public, and there will be food, and though a Kink spokesman didn’t get back to us with any further details, we’re going to put the opening out a couple of months, to early fall — perhaps just in time for the ever-kinky Folsom Street Fair.
