The Korean BBQ Cook-off is coming back on August 6th, with a new twist in store for amateur grill-masters and the roughly 8,000 fans who descend on this annual KTown event. This Saturday, a cook-off audition will be held for non-professional, non-restaurant competitors at the MaDang Courtyard from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Contestants will come with a sample of an original Korean-inspired barbecue dish for an initial screening for presentation and taste, with the best dishes later being presented before celebrity judges like Dexter actor C.S. Lee, blogger Sarah Gim, and Heroes star James Kyson. Five winners will be chosen to compete for a cash prize during the official BBQ Cook-off on August 26th. No reservations needed, just show up at 21 S. Western Ave. this Saturday morning.
