Add a fourth Chicago candidate to the list of reported Top Chef contestants… but not the Texas season that has been the main focus of rumors. Amanda Rockman, pastry chef of The Bristol, told The Stew: “At this moment I can only say— with a big smile on my face— that I am indeed on the second season cast” of Top Chef: Just Desserts. Right there, she already sounds saner than most of the first season cast; frankly we bailed on that season after a couple of episodes, feeling that it did pastry chefs a disservice and was possibly even exploitative of one contestant in particular. Here’s hoping Rockman and the other contestants have a season that better focuses on their talents rather than their personal issues. [The Stew]
