Sip Pink for Breast Cancer

Here at Grub Street, it goes without saying that we’re very much in favor of hearty dining and drinking … and when it’s for a good cause, all the better! Lucky for us, then, that Think PINK, Drink PINK, Shop PINK, supporting the fight against breast cancer, has kicked off in Harvard Square.

It’s simple: Order certain pink dishes and drinks at various boites throughout the neighborhood, and a portion of the proceeds goes to breast cancer charities like the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Dana Faber, and the Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital.

Here are some highlights:

Tonight, Harvest will host a “Think PINK” Breast Cancer Review, part of the Harvest Review Tasting Series. You’ll get four courses with wine for $39. Call for reservations.

At Henrietta’s Table and Noir, $1 will be donated to the Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital every time you order their “Pink Drink.”

UpStairs on the Square will serve two specially crafted pink drinks and donate part of the proceeds to the Alice Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital: Choose between a Flight of Hope, three two-ounce pours of summer roses, or Hits of Sunshine, St. Germaine, cava and raspberry puree in a flute.

You’ll find a “Sally Wu” cocktail (Reyka Vodka, St. Germain, grapefruit, Aperol, bitters and candied rum) on offer at OM. And at Grafton Street, a “Save the Melons” watermelon cocktail made with gin, fresh watermelon purée, basil, lemon juice and simple syrup goes toward the fight.

Ben and Jerry’s has created a custom flavor, Think PINK Strawberry Shortcake frozen yogurt, and they’ll donate $1 for each one sold to the cause.
