The Voice’s Fork in the Road blog caught up with Seamus Mullen and got him to discuss his upcoming West Village restaurant and “cider house.” He reiterates that the menu will be simply prepared Spanish food (“There’s going to be some small plates and some large, shareable family-style plates like whole fish on the bone, big steaks”), and says he’ll have hard cider and wine on tap. Fitting, since he really wants people to know he’s basing this place on the cider houses in Northern Spain: “The energy and spirit of the cider house is really unique and I think people are going to love it.” There’s a preview dinner in a couple of weeks, so it sounds as though everything is coming along as planned.
