Restaurant Diners Agree With Pennsylvania Restaurant’s Kid Ban

No dinner out for you.
No dinner out for you.

That Pittsburgh-area restaurant that plans to ban any diners younger than 6 years old has stirred up quite a lot of controversy. Today’s Wall Street Journal reports that Mike Vuick, the guy who wants to kick the kids out of his restaurant, McDain’s, has received more than 2,000 e-mails in response to his decision. What’s interesting is an overwhelming majority are in favor of the ban.

In fact, the majority of people applauding the move is overwhelming: an 11 to 1 ratio. And since announcing the ban, sales at Vuick’s restaurant have jumped by 20 percent. What’s more, a poll conducted by a local Pittsburgh TV news channel found that 64 percent of the more than 10,000 people polled favored the ban on children. So there you have it, the people have spoken, and what they’re saying is they don’t want your whiney, loudmouth brats disrupting their dinner.
