Sad news from Western Massachusetts: Jack Fitzpatrick, the force behind the popular Red Lion Inn and Blantyre, has passed away.
The Fitzpatrick family is responsible for restoring both Berkshires landmarks. The centuries-old Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge is known for its enormous porch (an excellent perch from which to gawk at tourists) and hearty New England fare; the Fitzpatrick family also owns Blantyre, the ever-so-swanky Berkshires restaurant-slash-resort where we can’t really afford to dine (the website sure is tempting, though).
Fitzpatrick was 88; his daughters will continue to operate both spots.
