First Look at Neely’s Barbecue Parlor, Opening Wednesday
A trio of food-TV personalities have come together for Neely’s Barbecue Parlor, which opens Wednesday on the Upper East Side. Pat and Gina Neely of Food Network fame are the owners, with Chopped champion Wade Burch (who cooked in near obscurity at Steamer’s Landing before his victory) heading up the kitchen. The space has an elegant-yet-homey look, with many separate dining rooms, an effect we’re told is meant to resemble a Southern home. As you might guess, the menu hews Southern, too: There’s barbecue, of course — Texas brisket, several regional variations on ribs — along with deep-fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, cedar plank salmon, and fried chicken. The place will be dinner only to start, with brunch coming soon. See the offerings for yourself below, and take a look at the cocktail menu while you’re at it. Space, drinks, and food are straight ahead in our slideshow.
