On Thursday, August 4, the next Meet the Market event series, which is sponsored by the Green City Market Junior Board, will pair one of the city’s most seasonally focused restaurants, Perennial Virant, with Green Acres Farm. Between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. you’ll be able to chat with the the owners of farm, while also sampling a small menu of appetizers and cocktails utilizing their fresh produce. Paul Virant created three speciality small plates for the event, including a dish of fried summer squash pickles with roasted garlic aioli. (Doesn’t that just sound like something he’d do?) Also, New Holland donated some of the spirits for the event, and mixologist Matty Eggleston will be turning them into two new cocktails. As always, money from the event will go to the Green City Market’s charity. Check out the full menu below.
