No tacos today

The Baja Room probably won’t be serving any tacos today. Action News reports that fire struck the Mexican restaurant at 15th and South streets late last night. When firefighters arrived on the scene just after midnight, they discovered smoke rising up from the building’s basement. Though tenants in the upstairs apartments escaped safely and no one was injured during the blaze, the restaurant’s first floor suffered smoke damage. There’s no word yet on when it will reopen.
