Next Monday night’s chef challenge cookoff at Perennial Virant, between Iron Chef almost-winner Paul Virant and spunky challenger Chris Pandel (The Bristol), was a sell-out (or the complimentary-tickets version of same) within an hour or two of its announcement. But now you could win a VIP ticket not only to the chef challenge, in which the chefs are given three ingredients (including a protein from Dietzler Farms) and the audience chooses the winner, but to complimentary dinner at Perennial Virant. The hitch is, this time you have to compose a haiku, the traditional Japanese poetry form consisting of five, seven and five syllables, expressing an image of nature or wistful regret at the snows of yesteryear or something. Four poets with the best haikus about this chef challenge will be chosen, so start composing and send your masterpiece to pvquickfire@gmail.com
