It wasn’t long ago that no one in S.F. had even heard of poutine — that Montreal delicacy involving a pile of fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Now it’s shown up on menus at Wayfare Tavern and elsewhere, and Heart is even hosting a Poutine Friday event this week, featuring an entire menu devoted to the stuff, including one version with pork belly and a pork and bacon broth. We couldn’t be more glad. See the details below.
Poutine Friday - July 29
Heart, 1270 Valencia Street at 24th, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
okra | tomatoes | green chili chutney | house paneer $7.-
black mussels | saffron fumet | cherry tomatoes | fromage $12.-
smoked beef navel | eggplant | lemongrass | turmeric | thai basil | cheese curds $9.-
