So, first things first: Smoothie King at 314 Newbury. They’re doling out free samples outside their Back Bay location. Tomorrow (which promises to be just as hot as today), buy one and get one free.
If you’d like to cool down and get a bit tipsy, you’re in luck: Papagayo has rolled out three new flavors of their tequila blanca snow cones. They’ve got pineapple, prickly pear, and watermelon, three pieces to an order for $12.
Enterprising Dante de Magristris has added a snow cone machine to his repetoire at dante. Choose between limoncello, cherry bourbon, and Italian margarita (made with tequila, fresh grapefruit and Campari). Have a few on the nice, cool, ever so breezy patio. They’re $9 a piece.
At MET Back Bay, enjoy a complimentary (yes, free) MET push-up pop on their terrace. Flavors include creamsicle made from fresh-squeezed oranges, Madagascar vanilla bean, and local honey.
If you’re lucky enough to have the freedom to lounge poolside, consider visiting the BOKX pool in Newton. Their “Ice BOKX” is free with the purchase of appetizer, lunch, or an entree. It’s a non-alcoholic (sorry) Colada, available today and tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Woodward at AMES will engage in a bacchanalian display this evening: Complimentary frozen grapes to all guests starting at 4 p.m., today and tomorrow.
