Downey’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, the unkempt South Street spot that was recently the subject of the forthcoming Spike TV show Bar Rescue, has a lot more to worry about than being unpopular and in need of a makeover. The Daily News reports that the bar was recently included on a city issued list of tax scofflaws, because its in to the city for more than $100,000 in back taxes. If the owners don’t come up with the money soon, the bar and restaurant could go up for sheriff’s sale before the episode of Bar Rescue that featured it airs on July 24. [Daily News]
