Booze

Yep, Liquor Really Can Become Liqueur

The other day we marveled over the BPD’s brash seizure of 61 bottles of booze at Cafe Meridien. Police, in a display of distinctly un-cordial behavior, made off with the goods after determining the place didn’t have a proper liquor license, just a liqueur license; owners argued that they blended their spirits with sugar or infused it with other mixes. Fortunately the Boston Licensing Board sided with the restaurant. They can keep their tequilas and their vodkas. In fact, they have every right to ask the BPD to return the 61 bottles they took. (We hope they’re still full to the brim!) [Universal Hub]
