Last week, Jean-Georges Vongerichten let us know that his revamp of the Pump Room may come with a name change. “We’re going to put it out there for Chicago to choose a new name,” he explained, “It’s going go be online soon.” That soon is now, as Public — the hotel where the restaurant will be located — just put up a poll which asks, “Tell us if we should rename the Pump Room.”
Don’t worry about coming up with creative restaurant names; the poll only asks whether the name should stay the same or change to Gold Coast Kitchen. We’re having a hard time dealing with the latter suggestion, but perhaps it will grow on us. What do you think? Should the Pump Room be renamed Gold Coast Kitchen?
