Angelo Sosa tells Grub Street that his midtown east restaurant, Social Eatz, will open its new outdoor seating space in time for happy hour this Thursday, June 30. “Summer in the city is great — our outdoors is an oasis in midtown,” Sosa says. In addition to now being able to get your Bibimbap Burger fix alfresco, Sosa tells us that it also means you’ll be less likely to encounter a wait before doing so: “We feel it will really help us serve more of our customers,” Sosa said. Specifically, the patio will seat 16 to 24 at up to twelve tables. The menu remains the same, with a few added summer specials; pitchers of beer and sangria will be added to the drinks menu. As for ambiance, the bluestone patio will have walls of Cumaro, a South American hardwood, and a planter shelf that will run along the top of the perimeter. Plus, they plan to add a projector at some point, to show sports on the back wall.
