Though pigs do not appear to be flying and there’s now word of hell freezing over, Ray’s Happy Birthday Bar, one of the last bars in Philly where patrons are permitted to smoke, is going smoke-free this Sunday. Easy there, Marlborough man! It’s just for one day. Come Monday you can continue being alive with pleasure while drinking and smoking until your heart’s content. The reason for the one day smoke-out? MLB is expected to shoot cutaways at the bar during the broadcast of Sunday’s Phillies game against the Athletics, according to the East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District’s newsletter. Patrons are encouraged to wear Phillies gear to ensure they get in the shots. The game starts at 1:35 p.m.
