River North: Protein Bar opened a new location on Wednesday by the Merchandise Mart. This is the second outlet for the shop, which aims to “provide active, on-the-go people with healthy, flavorful choices.” New locations in the Loop and the West Loop are planning to open by the end of summer. Lakeview: A new shop called FüL is set to open soon in Lakeview. Its Facebook page is incredibly vague about what it will actually serve, but here’s a quote: “We’re here to help fuel the bodies, minds, spirits and mouths of Chicago.” Luckily, Everyblock claims it will be a smoothie shop. Uptown: The owners of Michael’s Pizzeria are hoping to open a new Mexican restaurant at corner of Belle Plaine and Broadway. Before they can get approval, a meeting to get community input will be held by Alderman James Cappleman. It will be held on June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Michael’s Pizzeria. [Uptown Update]
