Today, the New York Observer released its list of powerful gay figures in New York. And coming in at No. 26 is current Times columnist, former Times restaurant critic, New York Diet alum, and author of Born Round Frank Bruni, who admits that his sexual orientation actually has very little to do with how he approaches his work. Well, there was that terrific review of the strip-club steakhouse that one time when Bruni wrote lines such as: “We were strangers to such pulchritudinous territory, less susceptible to the scenery than other men might be.” [NYO]
