Fatty ’Cue Invades Battery Park; the Orchard Takes the Summer Off

Battery Park/Financial District: Fatty ‘Cue has kicked off “Fatty at the Battery” with an outdoor kiosk selling burgers, sandwiches, draft beer, wine, and prosecco within the Battery Bosque in Battery Park. A second kiosk nearby, Fatty Snack, will offer soft-serve, shaved ice, and cookies by next week. [Grub Street]

East Village: A bakery-café called Sweet Boutique is looking to open in the old Sin Sin space within the next few months. The business is trying to wrangle a full liquor license from the neighborhood association, claiming that it’ll need a late-night bar open in order to survive. [EV Grieve]

Times Square: The eighteenth annual Taste of Times Square festival is happening today from 5 to 9 p.m. Booths representing Carmine’s, Havana Central, Junior’s, and other midtown-friendly restaurants will span Broadway between 42nd and 47th Streets.
