Big news for Lil Vinny’s: They’ve reopened! Rumors had swirled for awhile that the moody Somerville nook was closing for good — which made us very, very sad. But they’re back after a week-long shut-down, with a few changes.
They’ve brought a new executive chef on board, Le Cordon Bleu graduate Billy Gaskill. We’re told his new menu will be lighter and more seasonal, with specialties like broccoli rabe sauteed with garlic and oil, baby spinach salad, homemade fusilli arrabbiata, and shrimp and scallop Grand Marnier. Hmm, that last one doesn’t sound particularly “light,” but we visit Vinny’s for the garlic-soaked carbs anyway! Prior to dinner, content yourself with the appearance of equally atmospheric sister restaurant Vinny’s at Night in our pasta slideshow.
