Sunset has been busy trying to compare the food scenes in San Francisco and L.A., and we kind of have to call bullshit — not just because S.F. loses by one point, but that’s certainly part of our contempt. Josh Sens does a fine job of defending his city, but somehow Ludo Lefebvre’s LudoBites is declared “the first important pop-up restaurant” (that title should probably go to Mission Street Food, if not Saison), and that and a couple of food trucks add up to the winning point that pushes L.A. to the top in the category of “new ideas.” WHAT-ev-er, Sunset. Alan Richman thinks we’re pretty goddamn awesome and innovative up here, so you can just go eat a few more Korean tacos and catch up with 2009, K?
