Kink.com Gets One Step Closer to Having Their Own Bar

We heard the rumor a while back that Kink.com was looking to have their own, off-premises bar near their Mission headquarters in the Armory, and now it looks to be coming to pass. Popular bicyclist haven the Ace Café at 1799 Mission Street has shuttered, and the word is that the owner of the building, who appears to be Kink founder Peter Acworth, pushed out the Ace in order to claim the space for his own. The Ace’s liquor license expired May 31, and that may have had something to do with the timing. Grub Street is still waiting to hear back from Kink as to whether their upcoming bar will be a private event space or open to the public, or what the new name might be. But if we had to guess, it will be kinky.
