Hot Diggity Sics Its Dogs on South Street

Hot Diggity, the hot dog joint we told a few weeks ago would be leading the charge to resuscitate South Street this summer, opened Saturday. Owner Keith Garabedian put the word out via Facebook late Friday afternoon. The new spot’s menu, which was lovingly illustrated by Serious Eats wiener scene scribe Hawk Krall, features a variety of regionally inspired dogs with all the appropriate trimmings, and handcut French fries. There’s a Seattle Grunge dog that’s piled high with garlic cream cheese, onions, scallions and tomatoes; a Big Kahuna with pineapple salsa, habanero aioli and guava mustard, and Saigon Fusion with shredded carrots, red onion, cilantro, Thai chili vinaigrette and Sriracha.
