While our public schools wither and kids continue to put on the pounds while enjoying potentially life-threatening sugary soft drinks on the cheap, it looks like things are cooking up nicely for West Catholic High School’s culinary program. And you can thank Le Bec-Fin’s Georges Perrier for it. According to the Inky, Perrier visited the school yesterday, joked with the students and gave them some pointers on (of all things) preparing pizzas. Oh, and he handed over a check for $75,000 to ensure the program is properly funded for the next year. Meanwhile, cash strapped public schools are rumored to be considering adding Coke and Mentos geysers to next fall’s science curriculum. Sure, it’s not very practical, but the soda is cheap!
