Far From Home Won’t Roll with Amoroso Anymore

Hoagies and cheesesteaks may be back on a roll this morning, but there are still some casualties from Amoroso Baking Co.’s labor fiasco. A federal judge stepped in yesterday to issue an injunction forcing the iconic bread maker’s picketing drivers back on the road, but it was too late for at least one popular vendor. Far From Home, one of the new darlings in Philly’s still blossoming food truck set, announced yesterday morning via Twitter that it was taking the day off due to its inability to source its much needed bread. Later in another tweet, the truck’s owners announced that they had spent the day searching for a new bread supplier, adding: “No more amoroso 4 us!” We’re guessing that if Amoroso can’t resolve its labor issues — it wants its drivers to buy their routes to the tune of thousands of dollars — Far From Home won’t be the last business to roll with a new supplier.
