Ever heard of prairie oysters? We bet you have! Pretty much every fifteen-year-old learns about this euphemism for bull testicles, also called Rocky Mountain oysters, but most city types haven’t seen them outside of that scene in Funny Farm with Chevy Chase. But there are now two restaurants serving testes on po’boys, as the Scoop reports: Cato’s Ale House on Piedmont, and Ben & Nick’s on College, which both share the same owner. Apparently they’re “reminiscent of veal and not gamey.” We’re sure the Andrew Zimmern fans are lining right up. [Scoop]

And in other East Bay sandwich news, Bakesale Betty has teamed with Hodo Soy Beanery to do a veg version of their popular fried chicken sandwich, using fried tofu. Hodo actually created an entirely new product inspired by Betty’s Alison Barakat’s request for a salted tofu, called Savory Tofu, which is now available in stores. [East Bay Express]
