San Francisco chef and offal evangelist Chris Cosentino posted the rejected pilot of a TV show he was working on today called Chef Unleashed. The idea was to put him in various unusual cooking situations, like game hunting or showing a “tuna hand-gaffed by blood-soaked Sicilian fisherman” — sort of like Bizarre Foods but even edgier and more bloody? Anyway, Cosentino’s still proud of it, despite the fact that it was shelved by the unnamed network who paid for it, and he writes, “I think it’s a great opportunity for viewers and for a network game enough to break the boundaries of where food TV is right now.” We ourselves are not sure we’re ready for the lines between food TV and hunting TV to get blurred anytime soon. But maybe that’s just us?
Warning: This would be, obviously, not safe for vegans, or anyone who isn’t fascinated by the gutting of animals for that matter.
