Catch The Churchill, Coming To Third Street

Santa Barbara’s Square One closed this past April; no huge loss to the beautiful beach town. Today, L.A. Times reports that the restaurant’s chef, Jason Tuley, is coming to West Third Street as executive chef of a new restaurant named The Churchill opening in early July.

The Churchill comes from Beau Laughlin and Brett Cranston of The Hudson and plans to serve sustainable fare along the lines of charcuterie, pizza, pickles, sandwiches, and fresh bread with help from a rooftop garden and coffee supplied by Intelligentsia. The space will have a garden patio, vintage geegaws, a fireplace, photo booth, and a quick-service street-side window.

And where there’s newly introduced locavore eats, there surely will be cocktails too…and great beer…and California wine. Have we written this before? Anyway, if that fails to make you put your drinking shoes on, consider Winston’s wise words: “Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me.” The Churchill will serve all three meals seven days a week.

The Churchill, 8384 W. 3rd Street.
